About CSO Insights' e-book Series

Based on intense pressures in virtually every area of business today, sales and marketing organizations are being forced to reexamine the fundamental ways they operate. Companies are realizing that many of the strategies and tactics they employed during the past decades do not necessarily fit the needs of the marketplace any more. The fact that we need to make fundamental changes in how we leverage people, process, technology, and knowledge to meet the needs of prospects and customers is clear to many sales executives, but how to do it is not.

Senior sales management teams are struggling with what alternate approaches should be considered, what existing methods should be reinforced, and what previously discarded techniques should be renewed and integrated back into their operations. When going through this thought process they have precious few resources to consult for ideas and perspectives to deal with the sales and marketing excellence challenges their organization faces in increasing their sales effectiveness.

To help meet this knowledge gap, CSO Insights has committed to author a series of e-books profiling how sales and marketing executives are successfully dealing with the challenges their teams face. The first of these is featured below: The Sales Management 2.0 Challenge - (The SM2.0 Challenge), an e-book for sales executives profiling how their peers at other companies are optimizing how their sales managers direct the efforts of their sales teams.

Each issue of the SM2.0 Challenge Series will start with an analysis of sales management challenges and issues surfaced from CSO Insights' 2009 Sales Performance Optimization survey of over 1,800 companies worldwide. The remainder of the e-book will consist of interviews with sales executives and visionaries detailing their perspectives and personal experiences. Our intent is that this e-book series will continually provide ideas for how companies can turn the way they manage their sales teams into a competitive advantage.
